A lap of Indianapolis with Giancarlo Fisichella:

"Coming off the banking, I will reach a speed of 315km/h at the end of the pit straight before braking very hard for the first corner, slowing to around 115km/h and shifting down to second gear."

"Immediately following this right-hander, I turn into the left-hand part of this section, lifting slightly in second gear and hitting the apex at just under 130km/h. Through the following right-hand curve, I will accelerate up to fourth gear (230km/h) before braking down to second through this tightening corner, where my minimum speed will be around 120km/h."

"On the exit, I accelerate back up to fourth gear and around 260km/h before once again slowing to second gear. I hold second all the way through the next two corners, hitting the apex of the hairpin at around 110km/h and taking the right-hander slightly slower, at around 100km/h. The exit of this corner is extremely important as it leads onto the back straight, and although this is much shorter than the main straight, a good top speed is nevertheless important."

"Along the back straight I will reach 290km/h in fifth before once again braking hard, dropping down to second gear for the left-hand corner, which is taken at just under 115km/h. Throttle control is very important on the exit of this corner in order to balance the car properly through the following corners."

"Almost immediately, I will be slowing down to first gear for these two tight hairpins: the first is taken at just over 60km/h, followed by gentle acceleration before touching the brakes for the second, where my minimum speed will be around 65km/h. Exiting the hairpin, I will reach third gear (around 210km/h) before again shifting down to second for the very important right-hand corner which will take me back towards the banked circuit."

"I will hit this apex at around 130km/h, attempting to pick up full throttle as quickly as possible on the exit, as this determines my speed down the start-finish straight. The curve which rejoins the oval is taken under hard acceleration in fifth gear at 265km/h, and the final banked corner flat-out in top at 300km/h, coming down off the banking to complete the lap as I cross the famous yard of bricks at the start-finish line."
