Frentzen quickest at Paul Ricard
Posted 18 May 2002

Yesterday Heinz-Harald Frentzen clocked the quickest time of the day on the circuit of Le Castellet in France.

The German who scored his first point for Arrows in the Spanish Grand Prix clocked a 1:12.530 and was exactly a second quicker than McLaren man Kimi Raikkonen.

David Coulthard completed a massive 111 laps and followed closely behind his teammate. Nick Heidfeld ended up fourth quickest despite technical problems in the morning.

Heidfeld is happy with the work done on the French circuit and is looking forward to the Monaco Grand Prix.

'It was a shame we lost a little bit of time this morning but the team did a fantastic job to get the car ready again and we got a lot of important work done this afternoon,' said Heidfeld. 'Monaco is my favourite circuit. I am feeling even more optimistic after the results we have achieved here this week.'

Allan McNish set the fourth fastest time, just eight tenths ahead of Champcar driver Christiano da Matta, who did a very good job during his first Formula 1 job and completed 96 laps.
