Ferrari stops and starts again
Posted 18 May 2002

Ferrari closed its testing activities in Fiorano on Monday while at the same time starting a new programme at Mugello.

Rubens Barrichello took charge of the final day at Fiorano, working on a wet test and shaking down the cars to be used at Monte Carlo next week. The Brazilian completed 43 laps on the artificially soaked track in chassis 219, the car Schumacher will use at Monaco, before running his own car 220 and Schumacher’s spare car 221 for 30 laps combined.

Not far from Fiorano at Mugello, Ferrari’s official tester Luca Badoer got under way in F2002 chassis number 218 working on set-ups and the testing of mechanical components. He completed 45 laps and set a best time of 1:23.384.

Badoer will continue with the work today.
