A lap of the Nurburgring with Jenson Button:

"Coming past the pits I approach the first corner in top gear at around 295km/h dropping down to third gear to about 150km/h on a right-hand part of the chicane. As the circuit opens out in the left-hand corner I will be gently accelerating from 160km/h to 200km/h staying in third gear. A short fifth gear straight then leads to the relatively fast left-hand corner, which I will take at around 190km/h in 4th gear."

"Immediately after this I will have to brake very hard and regain position on the left-hand side of the track as I drop down to second gear at just over 100km/h for the tight right-hand corner."

"The next straight will allow me to get into top gear again and reach over 280km/h before the very hard braking for the hairpin at the bottom of the circuit where I will need to come right down to around 95km/h in second gear for this corner. I will accelerate out of this corner and reach the tricky left-hand corner in fifth gear at around 250km/h."

"In qualifying I will take this nearly flat just stabilizing the car with a little left foot braking. Straight after this is a right-hand kink, which I don't consider as a corner as it is flat, but nevertheless will pull well over three-g lateral."

"By the time I get to the next corner I will be in top gear and approaching 290km/h before dropping down to 145km/h in third gear for the left-hand corner. I will hold third gear all the way through to the next right-hand corner where I will use very light braking to drop the speed from just over 200km/h to 170km/h."

"I will be concentrating on the exit of this corner as it leads onto the back straight where depending on the wind I will probably reach my maximum speed of around 300km/h before reducing down to 100km/h in 2nd gear for the tight chicane."

"To maintain good speed through this chicane I need to use the curbs properly. I will only get back up to around 230km/h before braking again and decreasing down to second gear for the final corner, which I will take at around 110km/h."
